2009: A Belated Happy New Year!

Once again as the festive season approached my blogging was neglected so finally happy new year and time for a quick catch up.

Following a much needed holiday in Spain at the start of November my working hours have been preoccupied building a property management system for the Cornish Gems luxury holiday cottages. This has been a slight diversion from my current crop of work but has been a refreshing change, and, building a new platform from scratch has finally allowed me to work purely in PHP5 and MySQL 5 without any legacy server restraints. Project creep has invariably taken over as baby matters have dominated my partial working week but I hope to post some of the new techniques I have worked with over the coming months - especially as lucid information on some of them seems to be lacking on the web.

The year ahead looks set to be very interesting!
