As an exciting and innovative estate agency in South London Maalems wanted to carry their independence through to their website with a unique, fast and flexible property listings interface. Our relationship has been ongoing as the Maalems site has evolved since 2002.
The current incarnation removed several accessibility issues that were created by too rigorous a login and registration system and provides simple quick access to properties. The obtrusive nature of push technology exhibited by mass mailing of properties, while still available, has generally been ousted in favour of RSS feeds providing filtered listings meeting registered users requirements.
One particular request of the client was to ensure that empty search results were avoided - an underlying problem with many listings based interfaces. To achieve this, the search mechanism has been wrapped in a browsing based filtering system with options determined by the current records in the underlying database.
